Mode is the number that occurs most frequently in a set of numbers. For example in the following numbers, 3, 5, 6, 6, 8, and 9, the mode is 6 because it occurs 2 times whereas the rest of the numbers occur only once. Example: The age of your 8 friends is 4, 6, 7, 2, 12, 7, 8, and 9 respectively. How would you determine their modal age? Step 1: Arrange the age of your friends from least to greatest. 2, 4, 6, 7, 7, 8, 9, and 12. Step 2: Find the number that occurs the most. In this case 7 occur twice – so that is the mode. So the modal age of your friends is 7.
