Median |
|
Median is in the middle. The middle number in the set of ordered numbers is the median. For example the median of the following numbers, 3, 4, 6, 7, and 8 is 6. Example: What is the median of 4, 6, 8, 2, and 7? Step 1: Arrange the numbers in order: 2, 4, 6, 7, and 8 Step 2: Find the middle number – which in this case is 6. Step 3: If there are two middle numbers then find their mean. For example in the ordered numbers of 1, 3, 4, 6, 8, and 9 there are two middle numbers 4 and 6. Finding the mean of these two will give the median, which is 5.
