Mean |
|
Mean means average. Therefore the average of a group of numbers is its mean. For example the average of 7, 6, 4, 2, and 1 is 5. Mean is found by evening out the numbers. Example: What is the mean of 8, 7, 4, 2, and 9? Step 1: Add all the numbers 8+ 7+ 4+ 2+ 9 = 30 Step 2: Divide the sum by the number of addends. The addends are the total count of the numbers. The number of addends here are 5. Therefore the mean is 30/5 = 6.
