Dreamweaver MX

The most-used web development tool now includes built-in accessibility features:

• Automatic prompting for accessible HTML - Users can configure their Dreamweaver preferences to prompt for accessibility attributes for forms, tables, images and other HTML tags.
• Accessibility site reports - Using the Site Reports feature, Dreamweaver can scan existing pages or sites for Section 508 compliance. Rules can be set at a granular level. Reports show passed and failed tests, and link to detailed explanations of the results.
• UsableNet Accessibility Reference - Complete reference authored by leading accessibility software company UsableNet, available from within Dreamweaver in the Code panel.

Flash MX

The Flash player and authoring environment provide the ability to create rich multimedia content--including video, audio, and interactive learning--through a player available in 98% of web browsers. Previous versions of Flash were not able to provide accessible content. Flash MX, when used with the Flash 6 player, offers the following accessibility features:

• Automatic reading of text objects, such as captions, forms and dynamic text boxes
• Ability to expose Flash objects through Microsoft Active Accessibility (MSAA) to screen readers. Flash objects can now be named for screen readers and provide with optional long desk description
• Ability to hide objects from screen readers when appropriate (for instance, for elements that are purely decorative)
• Ability to add captions to video, when used with the Flash plug in for MAGpie (see below)

ColdFusion MX

Macromedia's web application server simplifies the table generation process by separating data and presentation. Data-driven content provides a simpler alternative to manual re-keying and eliminates human error in adding accessibility components.
